Dear Member,
Buyers move to used car market

Recent forecasts for the South African new car market predict very little growth as motorists levitate towards the used-car market, which is good news for our dealers.
According to Charles Grassie, Managing Director at Surf4Cars, buyers are looking for affordable cars in the entry-level price bands.

Almost two-thirds of all used-car searches performed on Surf4Cars were for vehicles in the price range R150 000 - R200 000.

This is an indication that buyers who have a reasonable budget for a car are looking for better value in the pre-owned market and are less likely to look for a new car.

This is, of course, good news for our members and we hope that you too will be able to benefit from this trend in the market!

FAIS Amendment Update
As always, we aim to keep our members informed and to this end have sent various communiques about this issue in the past few months. As we are fast approaching the deadline, we bring you the most recent FAIS update again, which you can download here for more information.

We also had a successful MIBCO meeting on the East Rand recently and will keep you up to date on any new developments.

All the best,

Pieter Wessels
